How it all started…

The intuitive drawing journal is a self-care journal that aims to help with stress and anxiety by encouraging readers to process their emotions through the continuous line drawing technique.

In February 2022 I reached out to Watkins Publishing to ask for some advice in regard to how to go about publishing a book. For the past two years, I had the idea of creating a mental health journal-style book with a focus on the technique called the β€˜continuous line/automated drawing’. This is a technique I started to use at the start of my drawing journey and it helped me develop the style I currently have today. During my time at university, I struggled a lot with my art and mental health. I was on the train back home, feeling defeated and constantly questioning my purpose there. I started to scribble without thinking and I didn’t lift my pen off the paper. I found this technique really allowed me to draw through my emotions. Some people can’t always find the right words to express how they feel, so I thought this could really benefit others. After hearing my idea, Watkins loved the idea and wanted to take it forward for publishing. I am now currently working on the book and it will be published in 2023.
